Make sure your project reflects the theme “Together We Can”.
Entries should be two to five minutes long.
Please state your artist statement at the beginning of the recording (the artist statement is not considered part of the entry).
Entries may be submitted on a DVD or CD. Please save your performance as a file on the disk not as a DVD/CD movie. Please submit two (2) CDs/DVDs of the performance.
Put the student’s name, state, year and grade division (“Primary” = K-2, “Intermediate” = 3-5) on the DVD or CD and also on the container.
Please do not put any other information on the DVD or CD.
Pack the two (2) CDs/DVDs in a large envelope and tape the entry form to the back of the envelope.
We have a new, simple entry form this year. Please fill one out for each entry. You can find them on-line to print, www.langranchpta.org/reflections or on the Reflections table near the library.
All entries must be the original and unassisted work of one student. Group projects are not accepted. Your artistic creation must be done on your own; however, parents are allowed to help you with the presentation requirements such as filming your performance and preparation of the DVD/CD and entry form.
Q: Do I have to film myself?
A: No. Anyone can film your performance for you.
Q: I want my friends to be in my Dance project. Is that allowed?
A: Yes but YOU have to be in charge! You decide where they go, what they do and
wear. They are not allowed to help you write or alter your plans. You may have up
to three dancers. As the Choreographer you may be one of the dancers but you
do not have to be.
Q: Can I use any background music in my Dance entry?
A: You may use almost any music from any source; however, we do require that your
selection be age appropriate. Also, be sure you credit the music on your entry
form.
