Make sure your project reflects the theme “Together We Can”.

Entries should be under five (5) minutes long.

Entries may be submitted on a CD or DVD in one of the following formats.

.MPG /.MPEG
.MOV / .QT (QuickTime Video)
.WMV (Windows Media Video)

Please save your performance as a file on the disk not as a DVD/CD movie.

PowerPoint presentations are not accepted.

Please submit two (2) CDs/DVDs of your entry.

Put the student’s name, state, year and grade division (“Primary” = K-2, “Intermediate” = 3-5) on the CD or DVD and also on the container.

Please do not put any other information on the CD or DVD.

Pack the CD/ DVDs in a large envelope and tape the entry form to the back of the envelope.

We have a new, simple entry form this year. Please fill one out for each entry. You can find them on-line to print, www.langranchpta.org/reflections or on the Reflections table near the library.

All entries must be the original and unassisted work of one student. Group projects are not accepted. Your artistic creation must be done on your own; however, parents are allowed to help you with the presentation requirements such as burning the final project to disk and the preparation of the CD/DVD and entry form. Adults may also instruct the student on how to use the video equipment and editing programs, however they may not do the editing for the student.

Q: I want my friends to be in my Film project. Is that allowed?
A: Yes, but YOU have to be in charge! You decide where they go, what they do and say. They are not allowed to help you write or alter your plans.

Q: I want to be in my film. Can I have someone else hold the camera?
A: No, you must either use a tripod or place the camera on a hard surface. You set up the shot.

Q: Can I use any background music in my Film entry?
A: Yes, however we do require that your selection be age appropriate. Make sure you credit the music on your entry form.
